SHELBY

There was quite a lively time here Wednesday at noon. Some one was burning trash and the wind carried the fire to Geo. Dickey’s orchard. It required about 25 men and one fire truck to extinguish the blaze. M. L. Ritter is not ho good at this writing. Rudy Mass and Wm. Durkee were in Whiting Tuesday night to confer the Ist degree on Mr. Maas. The Shelby degree team will confer the 2nd degree tonight (Thursday) on Rudy Maas. George Hansen, formerly of the Brown Ranch, was hurt badly here Sunday morning by one of the Shinneth boys, who backed into George's car and pushed it over on him. Dr. Tate attended him and said he will be laid up two weeks or more. We received a fine rain this week. We sure need it and thank our Creator for it and for the many blessings we receive from him. Joe and Vincent Manno were Gary visitors Tuesday. J Mrs. F. Fursman was visiting Mrs. Wm. Durkee Thursday evening.
