County Superintendent of Schools Ira Huntingdon, Principal Kenneth

Shafer of Wheatfield, and Trustees Bert Vandercar of Wheatfield, Harry Stalbaum of Kankakee township, and Andrew Sipkema of Union township, were here Monday, enroute to Chicago on business.

Mrs. Wm. Balder accompanied Mr. and Mrs, Andrew Nussbaum. of Remington, to Bay City, Mich., for a week-end visit with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew DeHaan and daughter, Mips Tresa, left last week for New York state, for a visit with Rev. and Mrs. James Bonos. A cart! received from them states that they drove through Canada and visited at Niagara Falls. Captain and Mrs, Hugh Socks, of Indianapolis, and their new daughter, born Aug. 12th at the St. Vincent hospital at tlndianapolis, arrived here Tuesday for a visit with Mrs. Socks parents, Dr. and Mrs. R. Y. Oosten. The new granddaughter, named Roberta Ann, weighed 7 lb., 7 oz., at birth. Master Hugh Socks, Jr., has .been here with his grandparents the past several weeks. Mr. and Mils. Charles Curtin, Mr. and Mrs. Mel Struble were at Rainesville, Ind., Sunday to attend a family reunion. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Curtin and daughters were in Seottslmrg, Ind., last week-end to attend the funeral services for a cousin of Mrs. Curtin. We will handle the school books this year. Mrs. Neil Sekema and Mrs. AI Ewart will have charge of that department. Bring in used books for sale or exchange.—DeMotte Federated Store.
