Farmers and taxpayers generally should read the article in another column in this paper, giving statement on question of relief by the Indiana Farm Bureau. The statements are substantially true, in our opinion. Jasper county does not have this “relief ’ situation to combat, as do the big cities. What interests us in this article is the apparant changed attitude of the Farm Bureau. We can well remember when loaders of the Farm Bureau got out and worked for and elected the party chat has lostered this whole un-American idea that the government is responsible for every detail of a man's/life, and that citizens need only call on the government when they want help. The past six years have broken down much of thp spirit of self-re-liance of Americans, and whether we will ever be free from this evil is doubtful.
Yep, on Wednesday a.m., we got our Valentine, written by some one’s left hand, in a big envelope—unsigned, of course. We had about given up, too, when it came. Dr. Duvall says he had a “bad” night Tuesday—what with the truck drivers, radios, and tom cats!
