Mrs. Charles Basset and sister, Miss Mary Zellers, of near Morocco, visited Mrs. F. O. Garriott Thursday afternoon of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Hanson, of Chicago, are moving on the G. E. Lydig farm southwest of Thayer. Mrs. James Dickey and children, Miss Mae Cypher and Freda Garriott were Hammond visitors Friday. ’ Van Sydow, of Chicago, is spending the week at his summer home. Miss Berniece Baker is spending a few days with Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Hickey, of Logansport.

Mr. and Mrs. Mark Hasaet and family, Mr. and Mrs. Penny Hasset and family, of Kankakee, Mr. and Mrs. AlmanHayhorst and family, of Momence, spent the 4th with Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Cyphers. Mrs. John DeFries, of DeMotte, *ras a Thursday evening guest of Mr end Mrs. Vernon Cyphers. Mr. and Mrs. Alley Blood and grandson Teddy, were callers of Mr. and Mrs. V. Cyphers Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Lewie Swanson and family, of near Fair Oaks, were callers of the Vernon Cyphers family Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Davis and family, formerly of Calumet City, have now made theis* residence here in Thayer. Mr. and Mrs. Elwih Dalisbury, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Mellon and sons, Jack and Donald, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wood, Mrs. C. E. Cfocker and Arnold Crocker, of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Deiss and daughters, Shirley and Sylvia, Miss Donna Gateway, of Virgie, Clarence Galbranson and Ivan Todd, of Wheatfield, and Will Mellon and sisters had dinner and supper at ]Earl Wiseman’s on the 4th. After supper two cars were loaded up and went to the celebration at Fair Oaks; Jack Mellon, of Chicago, is spending his vacation with his aunts, the Misses Mellon and Mrs. Earl Wiseman. , Jay Wiseman visitfd in Chicago from Friday until Monday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bower, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Boswinkle iand son, Junior, of Hammond, weire guests of Mr. and Mrs. James Nelson and family Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Coble and daughter, Janet, and Ernest Freel’s celebrated the 4th in Thayer. They motored up the river to Jerry Island, where they enjojfed their dinner. I Mrs. J.
