“BILL” MERRITT FILES FOR COUNTY TREASURER
Willard “Bill’’ Merritt wishes to announce to the voters in the northern part of the county that he is a candidate for Treasurer of Jasper county, on the Republican ticket. F’or the past two years, “Bill” as he is familiarly known, has been an extra deputy hired by the present treasurer. He is thoroughly familiar with the duties and responsibilities o.'f that office. He has never held a public office. Bill has always been a Republican having run before on that ticket for a city office in Rensselaer and was defeated only by a narrow margin. He is 35 years old and has been a resident of Jasper county and Rensselaer all his life. (Indications are that he is “slipping” from the ranks of bachelorhood.) For the past seven years he has been active as a Scout leader of the Rensselaer Boy Scouts. He is also a member of the sponsoring committee of the Hi-Y, and is the present county secretary of the various conservation or fish and game clubs of the county. BiH will greatly appreciate any support that you may give to him at the primary in May.
