SCHOOL NOTES
Monday began the last month of school for this year. It began the very last month of high school days for the twenty D. H. S. seniors. These few weeks promise to be chucked full of big events, from programs and track meets to banquets and parties. Our first track meet of the season will be held here against Wheatfield this Thursday afternoon, at 3 P.M. May our boys come out on top. , Friday, April 1, is Talent Day. Our new school band has been practicing very hard in order to do its part of the program well. Wednesday the band members travel to
Rensselaer to practice with the county mass band, which fa to be one of the big features on Friday’s program. Our glee clubs are also prepared to sing with the all-county chorus. The Juniors are planning their reception for the Seniors, to take place April 18. They say it is going to be 4 ‘different ’ this year. More power to them. It won’t be so very long before our annual, The Keen Keener, will be on sale. Did you order yours? In Literature class, the Freshmen have been writing ballads. Yes, they are real ones, they rhyme and have perfect meters. Each ballad relates
an interesting story having a tragie ending. The Seniors want to thank the people for their attendance and attention at their class play, “Here Comes the Prince.” Also, a special thank-you to those who helped make the play a success, namely, the musicians and Burk's Beauty Shop, who, through their courtesy, gave the hair dresses. We’re glad you liked the play. The Standard Oil Co. gave a moving picture for the enjoyment of the school children Wednesday. - Here is the calendar of the coming events of D. H.
