AMATEUR HOUR AT RENSSELAER

BY AMERICAN LEGION POST --FINALS JAN 6th AND 13th. The American Legion Post of Rensselaer is holding an Amateur Hour Contest Dec, 23rd and 30th and on Jan. 6th and 13th at the Rensselaer Armory. The first three Thursday evenings will be preliminary contests, the winners of which will be eligible for the Final Contest to be held on Jan. 13th. Prizes of $15.00, $10.00 and $5.00 will be given for first, second and third place respectively. Every type of amateur talent will he permitted to enter. This is an unusual opportunity for clubs and organization to earn some money by entering one of these contests either as a group or as a sponsor for one or more acts. It is also desired to uncover any latent talent among the men, women and children of the surrounding communities. The audience will select winners each night by written ballot. Applications for entering the contest can be found in this issue. Anyone desiring further information should get in touch with the Rensselaer Legion or apply at Hopkins and Hanley drug store. The master of the gong will be none other than that famous and well beloved character--well, just wait and see.
