Mr. and Mrs. Bryce Whitaker and Mr. and Mrs. John Jackson of Hammond called on Milton Cobb and other friends Saturday. On Sunday, July 2nd, Dr. Parrett of Hammond will speak at the church. Opportunity will be given to unite with the church, also baptism of infants, children and adults. The young people of Dr. Parretts church will be with him and have charge of the devotional services. Come and receive an inspiration at this service. Everyone is welcome. The theme of the service for next Sunday evening: “God given gifts”. Do you value and use

them? Come. Arthur Emerson, boy evangelist of Chicago, was with us last Sunday and addressed the Sunday School and congregation. The Fagans will open their first game with DeMotte, June 20. Batteries for the Fagan’s are Latta, C. Brodie, P. They are in fine shape and hope to win and promise a good game. Come out and help. Mr. and Mrs. F. O. Cyphers visited their daughter, Mrs. Dayton Strong at Watseka, Ill., last Monday. Mrs. Schefflr of Dtroit, is spending a few weeks with her brother, Mr. Hielscher and wife. Miss Beulah Stump returned home Sunday after a weeks visit with friends in Hammond. Ed. Stump and family visited in Hammond Saturday and Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wiseman and son, Jay, Mr. and Mrs. John Guss of Virgie, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Borstra of Thayer were callers on the Wellons family Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Frank of Chicago were guests of Martin Frank and family Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Robt. E. Lowe and family of Chicago were week end guests of her mother, Mrs. Lena Schulz. Robert returned to his work and Mrs. Lowe is staying a week with the children. Elmer Parks returned to his home in Schneider after a five weeks visit with his grand parents, Jesse Latta and family.
