Mrs. John Born is spending a few days in Hammond with her sister, Mrs. Wright. Mrs. Harry Kelly is moving to Hessville Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Gerrick of Kentland was visiting their son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Gerrick Thursday. Mr. Gerrick is working at Hamlet. Mr. and Mrs. Vicory and family attended a musical recital at the M. E. Church given by Mrs. Harry Foster Sunday evening. Mrs. Vicory and children and Miss Bessie Peters, spent Tuesday

in Gary. Mrs. H. P. Simms entertained the girls Sunday school class Thursday The girts attending were Wanda Stott, Jean Brice, Darline Williamson, Bethel Russell, Nona and Margaret Vicory, Beatrice Hensy, Katherine Clannon, Marlice Doty, Helen Russell, Mrs. Sims teacher, Maud Anderson, Mrs. McRoberts. It was a surprise on Jean Brice. A basket dinner was served. All enjoyed themselves. A miscellaneous shower was given in honor of Mrs. Verland Dodson at the home of Mrs. Willard Smith. Those present were Mrs. Alice Bierdsley, Mrs. Ira Kerrick, Mrs. Harry Anderson, Mrs. Fred McRoberts, Gus Hartwick, Miss Nettie Russell, Miss Zona Smith, Miss Evelyn Williamson, Mrs. W. Smith Miss Autumn Black, Irma Jean Dodson, and the bride, Mrs. Verland Dodson. Mrs. Elsie Jones was taken to the Rensselaer hospital Sunday night for a severe operation. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Martin spent Sunday at Merrillville at a base ball game. Mrs. Ausby went to Gary shopping Saturday. Miss Helen Scramblin is spending a few days at the home of Merrit Lowe and family. Arlene Williams has gone to St. John for a visit. Sunday School at the Christian Church at 10 o’clock. Christian Endeavor at 7:30. Everyone come. Idella Williams was home over Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Lawson Williams and family was visiting his parents Sunday. Mrs. Vearl Van Clarke is visiting in Hammond. Miss Iola Fisher was visiting her father and brother over Sunday.
