Friends of Mrs. Exton Alexander, formerly of here, but who has lived in Gary for the past ten years, will be sorry to hear that she is quite low and has been removed to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Jasperson. Tuesday was election day, it sure was a wet day. Mrs. Jerome Nelson has been on the sick list. Mrs. Lulu Hartford returned from a few days visit at South Bend. Those who spent the week end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hilliard were Mr. and Mrs. Warren White and family of Dwight, Ill., and Mr. and Mrs. Perry Mansfield of Chicago. Those from Wheatfield attending the World’s Fair Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. George Williams and kiddies, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hoehn and family, Verne Poicel, Irene Keene, Marie Minor, Jeanette McNeil, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Manx and Arthur James Howard. Work is progressing fine on the Arthur Cowgill property, Fred Schriener and son, Jesse are doing the work. Mrs. Chas. Jasperson is suffering from a bad nail wound, Dr. Leeson of DeMotte burned it out and it must be watched closely for a couple of days. Mrs. Opal Staulbaum of this vicinity is being employed Cora Querry. George Williams of Harvey, Ill., visited his brother. Forest Sunday. Hillis Jeffers spent Sunday with home folks. Henry Olsen and family visited Grandma Olsen at Highland last week. Donald True is being employed by Murray Kingman.
