Sunday school missions by radio presented by the young folks Sunday night, June 18. Come and hear Dr. Parrett of the First Presbyterian church, Hammond will speak on the evening of July 2nd. The young people of his church will have charge of the devotional services. Come, you are welcome. Wm. Mellon was badly cut and bruised in an auto accident Saturday afternoon when the car he was in and driven by Harry Rayels, hit another car on road 41 near Osborn’s corner. The other car was driven by a man from So. Carolina. Dr. Davis of Lowell was called and took Mr. Mellon to Lowell, where his wounds were dressed. Mr. Rayels escaped with minor bruises, but his car was badly damaged. The Delpha Westminister Guild of Englewood Presbyterian church held their annual picnic with the Misses Mellon Saturday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Kirby Thomas and boys of Hammond visited Edgar Stump and family Sunday. Beulah Stump is spending the week in Hammond. Mrs. Pearl Weaver and baby son of Rose Lawn visited Mrs. Edgar Stump Saturday afternoon. June Gibhart is home again after a visit in Chicago. Mrs. George Frye and daughter is staying at the home of Mr. Jay Fry. The children were glad to have their Sunday school teacher, Mrs. Scott with them again Sunday after several weeks illness. The community was greatly shocked and grieved Sunday afternoon when news reached here of the drowning of Virginia Dickey of Shelby. She was well liked by all and will be greatly missed. Our sympathy is with the family. The Fagans ball team were all set for the game Sunday morning, but the Shelby team did not show up. You weren’t afraid were you boys? Mrs. Iva Miller of Jackson, Miss., was visiting her sister, Mrs. Tom David and family, last week. Mr. and Mrs. Tom David and family were Sunday visitors at her parents, Mr. and Mrs. I. A. Wilson at Ade, Ind
