Near Sirois and P. F. Naylor went to the races at Indianapolis on Memorial Day. Mrs. R. E. Fuller was taken to the Methodist Hospital in Gary last Thursday and at this writing her health is about the same. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Trump called on Mrs. Eva Reyels and Claribel Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Bunker of Indianapolis were guests of Mr. and Mrs K. V. Arnold the first of the week. Paul Arnold returned home with them for an extended visit. Indianpolis races Tuesday. Mrs. Gerald Fehlman returned home Sunday much improved in health. Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Maurek and Margo of Gary were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Neal Sirois over the weekend. Mrs. Maurek and Margo remained in Shelby until Tuesday. Russell and Hobart Estill went to Kentucky Monday to spend a few days. Vliet's, Garners, and Conn’s were at their cottages in Water Valley from Saturday until Tuesday. Walter Guske, George Bodnarick and Max Dickey went to Chicago Saturday. Mrs. Maude Dehner is spending the week with relatives in Monon. The Chick, Gilman, Mathis and Quinn families enjoyed the week end at their cottages in Water Valley. Sam Sirois says that he wishes whoever took his eight quarts of oil Saturday night would please return the bottles. There will be no questions asked and the person can have the oil. The Faber, Spielman and Evans families spent Sunday at their cottages in Ahlgrim’s Park. Mr. and Mrs. Evans have sold their cottage. We are sorry that they can’t be here this summer, but we also welcome the new occupants. Guy Dickey of Hobart spent from Sunday till Wednesday, with his mother, Mrs. Josephine Dickey. The Misses Elinor Jones and Ruby Sirois, escorted by Harry Surprise and Ebert Martin of Lowell, attended the Memorial Day races at Indianapolis. Mr. and Mrs. William Ball of Hammond spent Sunday and Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs. William Sapp. Miss Elinor Jones enjoyed several days last week with Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Gates at Hammond. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Dickey and daughter, Marlene, of Hammond visited at Dickey’s Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Bales of Shelby and Mrs. Marvin Stowell of Crown Point went to LaFayette Tuesday to attend the funeral of Mrs. Clark Williams, grandmother of Mrs. Bales and Mrs. Stowell. Mrs. Williams was a resident of Lowell for several years and will be remembered by the older residents as Mrs. Fan Blue. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wann were in Gary Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Gates of Hammond and Miss Ida Louise Ahlgrim of Calumet City were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Max Ahlgrim.
