WILL SPEAK AT FAIR GROUNDS
Attorney Joseph H. Conroy, the whirlwind orator, who has attracted state wide attention by his espousal of the anti-repeal cause will speak at the Lake County Fair Grounds next Sunday afternoon at 3:00 o’clock on the issues of the day. Mr. Conroy promises to tear into the opposition with vitriolic oratory of which he is capable. Everyone interested in the repeal or anti-repeal question is invited to come and hear him. Remember the time, Sunday afternoon, June 4th at 3:00 o’clock daylight saving time, or 2:00 o’clock standard time. A report from Gary is to the effect that street car service over the Gary and Southern between Crown Point and Gary will be discontinued on June 17th and bustransportation substituted in its place. As now planned the busses will run from Crown Point direct to the mill gates and will make the trip in 45 minutes instead of the hour nbw taken by the street cars. Permission of the city council to operate busses over Crown Point streets has not as yet been obtained. About the heaviest burden the present day motor car is called upon to carry is the debt on it. The next heaviest is the taxes that have been piled onto it.
