Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jones and family of Wheatfield, visited the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Pettit, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gifford returned home from Hammond, Friday, where he has been employed for the past few weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jenson and son of Goodland, visited Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Holliday and son, over the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Roberts and son, spent the week end in Chicago. Leroy Stroup, who is employed in Crown Point, spent last week with home folks. Miss Helen Misch, spent Tuesday night with her cousin, Miss Mildred Wolf, who resides north of Wheatfield. Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Hershman were callers here Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Parker and family, visited their daughter, Miss Pauline Parker, at Chicago, Sunday. A shower was held in honor of Mrs. Paul Bush at her home Saturday afternoon. She was the recipient of many beautiful and useful gifts, A delicious pot luck lunch was served. A good time was had by all. Miss Helen Karniak was a Kouts caller Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence McDaniel spent Sunday at the home of their daughter Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bush. Miss Nellie Delehanty called at the Lawrence Schneckenburger home Monday evening. A Farm Bureau meeting will be held at the River school house, Thursday evening. The purpose of the meeting is to elect officials. There will be a short entertainment planned by Miss Nellie Delehanty. Mr. DuBois visited his family over the week end. He has been employed in Kalamazoo, Mich., the last few months. Miss Lorene McDaniel spent the week end with Miss Doris Grube. Mrs. Owen Daly returned to her home in Elkhart, Sunday, after a two weeks visit with her sister, Miss Nellie Delehanty. Mr. and Mrs. Vern Stroup and family visited his sister, Mr. and Mrs. Orval Smith and family at Gifford, Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Bush and family called at the home of Henry Hunicker and daughter Etta, Sunday afternoon. The Church of Christ at Wheatfield will hold an election April 23, for the purpose of electing trustees. Rev. Joe Smith will preach at the Church of Christ in Wheatfield, March 26, at 10:30 a. m. Everyone is invited.
