SHORTER SCHOOL TERMS IN JASPER COUNTY.
A general survey of township units in Jasper County reveals that several townships plan to shorten the school term to seven months
next year. The reports given by each trustee follows: Barkley 7 months; Carpenter, 8 months; Gillam, 7 months; Hanging Grove 8 month; Jordan, 8 months; Kankakee, 8 months; Keen er, 8 months; Marion, 8 months; Milroy, 8 months; Newton, 7 months Union, 8 months; Walker, 8 months Wheatfield 8 months. The above resume should reduce the number of phone calls to the trustees and county superintendent. It must be distinctly understood that every trustee in Jasper county wants to run his schools the full eight months. But if he hasn’t the money then he has no choice in the matter.
