Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Solomon and family were given a farewell party at their home Monday evening, in view of their leaving the community. Lunch consisting of cake, sandwiches, pickles, coffee and cocoa was served to seventy friends and relatives of the Solomon family. Myles McFadden, who recently graduated from the International Business College at Fort Wayne, Ind., arrived last week for a visit with home folks. Stowell called on “Eddie” Stuhlmacher at the Gary Methodist Hospital Wednesday evening. Claude Osburn and Hubert Long were in Valparaiso on business Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Reed, Edna Jane and Mrs. Mary Solomon enjoyed Sunday dinner with the Roy Osburn family. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Amtsbuchler entertained at pinochle Friday evening. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Mussman and Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Long. Edna Solomon spent Sunday with her cousin, Ellen Solomon.
