THE LOST IS FOUND

Twas at a brilliant dance hall Amid a drunken throng, When suddenly from out the crowd A girl stood all alone. A man lurched up before her Drunken and foul of breath, He swung his arms about her Roughly drew her to his breast. Her cheeks grew red with anger Her lips began to curl, “Unhand me, Sir, this instant, I am a Christian girl." A vile oath fell from his lips, And scorn came o’er his face, “Well, if you are a Christian You are mighty out of place.” My mother was a Christian, Dearly she loved her God, She didn’t need to tell it, We knew by the path she trod I was a wayward fellow Tho’ I never killed or stole; I trusted in my mother’s faith To save my sinful soul. But O! I was mistaken I see now it can’t be done My soul can only be reclaimed By faith in God’s own Son. He strode from out the dance hall Sobered by her scorn, And Angels recorded in heaven above Another lost soul reborn. O! Christian, remember your Master, As of old, He calls today, Come out and be ye separate; It is the only way.
