BALL TOURNEY.

The annual Jasper counry grade school basketball tournament will be held in the Rensselaer high school gym on Friday and Saturday, February 10th, and 11th, twelve township schools being entered in the tournament. Rensselaer will not participate in the tourney as has been the custom for the past year or so, but eight of thirteen townships will send teams to contest for supremacy. The drawings for the preliminary rounds were made this week with the following placings: Friday Night 7:00--North Marion vs Union. 8:00--Parr vs South Marion. 9:00--South Berkley vs DeMotte. Saturday Morning 8:00--Hanging Grove vs Wheatfield. 9:00--North Newton vs Remington. 10:00--South Newton vs Kniman 11:00--Winner No. 1 vs Winner No. 2. Saturday Afternoon 1:00--Winner No. 3 vs Winner No 4. 2:00--Winner No. 5 vs Winner No. 6. Saturday Night 8:00--Winner No. 9 vs Winner will be 15c and 10c. Season tickets, 25c and 40c. It is reported that a bell has been ordered by the Keener Township Dairy to be worn by their cheese maker. How about it Cari? North of town Monday evening the Jasper County Farm Bureau oil truck driven by Cecil Thurner was hit from the rear by a Chevrolet coupe. The Chevrolet came out second best.
