Mrs. Josie Hanaway entertained Linnie Richards of Kankakee, Ill. at six o’clock dinner Friday. Carl Richerger also called. Miss Myrtle Crawford spent Saturday evening in Rensselaer the guest of Mrs. Ida Blackburn. Mr. and. Mrs. Harry Betterton and son Billie, of Hammond, spent the week end with the Crawford family. Mrs. Florence Fritts has been quite sick the past week, we hope she will be up and around soon. The Farm Bureau gave a splendid picture and play Monday night which was greatly enjoyed by every one. Mrs. Herman Osting gave a bridal shower for her niece, Mrs Victor Van Merton last Thursday night. The bride received many beautiful and useful gifts. The evening was spent playing bunco. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. May motored to Indianapolis Monday night to, hear a lecture. Have you read the DeMotte Merc. Co. adv? Mrs. Mel Struble is still quite sick with the flu. Mrs. Charlie Curtin is back at Curtin Bros, after being sick with the flu for about three weeks.
