AMERICAN MADNESS
American Madness at Gayble Theatre, North Judson, Sunday afternoon and night and Monday, Feb. 5 and 6 is a motion picture produced by the Columbia Picture Corporation ought to be seen by every bank depositor in the country and that means by most of our citinship, because it proves plainly that runs on banks are brought about by idle gossips and wilful slander. A run on a bank is very much like the cry of fire, when no fire exists and yet hundreds of people might be trampled upon and killed just because some excitable or malicious person has started this cry. American Madness shows how vicious it is to a community to permit a run on a bank, but it also preaches a great moral lesson on sincere community banking which does not consider collateral alone in lending money, but gives credit to business men of good character an asset much greater in importance than stocks and bonds. Furtner the picture points a moral and a good one to such banks which board their money, when business needs loans to keep up production and maintain employment. However “American Madness” is not all moralizing. It is an interesting exciting and fine entertainment based on a romantic story. The fact that it also teaches a good lesson makes it all the more desirable to see. It should improve the financial morale of all our citizens every business man should be made to see it.
