Allison Bibler, editor of the Crown Point Register, was a business visitor in Shelby Friday. Mrs. Christine Caster, who has been ill at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Roy Daum in East Chicago, is now much improved, and is able to sit up occasionally. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Larson of Gary were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest K. Larson Thursday Everett Estill spent an enjoyable week end at Momence, Ill. How Everett does enjoy those band practices! Wesley Ahlgrim of Santa Monica California, who is visiting his grand-parents here, spent last week with Mr. and Mrs. Niel Sirois near Wheatfield. Mrs. Josephine Dickey was ill several days fast week wtih influenza. Mr. and Mrs. John B. Pomeroy are enjoying a pleasant and extended visit with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lee at Cedar Lake, Ind. Andrew Svorancik, Sr., who works in Whiting, spent the week end, with his family. Mrs. Eva Latta, who has been ill at her home the past week, is still unable to be up. Matt Cross of Hebron spent Friday and Saturday with his son, Mr. Cass Cross, and family. Paul Struble cf Gary returned home Tuesday, after several week’s visit with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Davis. Mrs. George Cole is the guest of her children in Gary this week. Mrs. George Hathaway reports that the condition of her father, Mr. E. P. Williams, who is a patient in the Lake County Tuberculosis Sanatorium, remains about the same. Mrs. L. C. Jones is employed at the home of Mrs. Pear in Lowell at the present. Mrs. Josephine DeFries has been spending several days with her mother, Mrs. DeKinderen of Thayer, who is quite ill. Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler Nichols were guests of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bunker of East Chicago, Sunday. Clark Wells is not so well this week. Gerald Davis is working in the mills at Gary this week. Homer Edgerton enjoyed a delicious turtle dinner on Sunday Don Dickey, who attended Purdue university last semester, has now returned home. Miss Jeanette Nichols and Mr. Paul Nichols were guests of their brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Dilwyn Nichols of North Judson, Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Melville Jones and family of Elizabeth City, North At present they are the guests of the parents of Mrs. Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Max Ahlgrim, Sr The Jones family were residents here several years ago, and are planning to make this their home again. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Gates of Hammond, Mr. John Ahlgrim and son, Max, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and son Wesley of Santa Monica, California, and Miss Ruby Sirois of Wheatfield were all present at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Max Ahlgrim, Sr., to greet the Jones’ family on their arrival Monday evening. Dr. W. W Tate was a dinner guest of Mr and Mrs. Earl Pace Sunday.
