PLOP--ANOTHER BULB!--PIC-TURE COSTS INCREASE
The bill for electric light bulbs that the present-day movie studio uses would drive any average householder into bankruptcy. George Raft, sensational young newcomer to the screen, discovered that during production of his last picture, “Under-Cover Man" drama centering around a big-time crook who gambles with his own life and the life of the girl he loves to hunt down the slayers of his father, which is at the Momence Theatre, Friday and Saturday. Nancy Carroll, Roscoe Karns, Lew Cody and Gregory Ratoff have chief supporting roles. In “Under-Cover Man” alone, for example, seventeen 1000-watt bulbs; twenty-six 2000-watt bulbs; seven 5000-watt bulbs; and 1400 for arc lights were required, Raft found.
