Mrs. Wm. Dyke motored to Chicago Sunday to spend the week with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Betterton of Hammond spent the forepart of the week in DeMotte. Mrs. Neil Sekma and her sister, Miss Myrtle Crawford, were shopping in Hammond, Thursday. Quite a numoer from DeMotte attended the county basketball tournament at Rensselaer last Saturday. A baby girl entered the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sigler on Sunday afternon. How the stork does surprise people. Don’t forget to attend the community meeting, January 24th, next Tuesday. Mrs. Alfred Euart and Mrs. J. F. Slaubaugh are on the sick list this week. See DeMotte Mec. ad in this issue Kathryn Segma and Philip Black of Wheatfield attended the show at North Judson Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. James Dickey and son, Jimmy visited with relatives in Thayer Sunday afternoon. Miss Lillian Lamphier of Kniman spent Friday night in the home of Mr. and Mrs. May. George Brennen of Berwyn spent the week end in the DeKock home here. Marjorie Conrad worked for Mrs. John Fairclough who has been ill with the flu Saturday and Sunday. Chas. Groet spent Monday evening visiting at the Grunwald home. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. May entertained the bridge club Wednesday evening. Mr. Augsperger and Mr. Whitson of the Cackle Hatchery in New Haven were in DeMotte last week looking over the possibility of putting in a branch hatchery here. Mr. Dykema drove to New Haven on business last week.
