The Bridge Club was entertained Tuesday evening of last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred McRoberts. Honors were awarded to Miss Dorothy Fry, Mrs. C. E. Minninger, Mr. Charles Larson, and Mr. Hawkins; consolations went to Mr. C. E. Minninger and Miss Mary Langford. A delectable lunch consisting of meat sandwiches, pickles, cheese celery, pineapple tapioca, and coffee was served. The Woman’s Club met Thursday afternoon in the Schneider school

auditorium; hostesses being Mrs. G. Giant, Mrs. C. E. Minninger, Mrs. R. McLachlan, and Mrs. R Lee. The program for the afternoon was an open discussion of citizenship. Bunco was the afternoon’s diversion. Awards were given to Mrs. J. Wolgemuth, Mrs B. Watts, and Mrs. John Born. The hostesses served a delicious lunch of date cake topped with whipped cream, and coffee. Mrs. Gust Johnson of Chicago is spending the week with Mr. and Mrs. Gust Daun. Mr. E Bruckman, Mr. E. Sirois, Mr. John Lee, and Mrs. Otto Martin who has been on the sick list are well on the road to recovery. Mr. and Mrs. M. Born and son of Chicago are visiting at the R. Born home. Gladys Larson and John Daun spent Sunday afternoon in Chicago visiting relatives. Mr. and Mrs. R. McLachlan motored to Hammond Saturday to the theatre. Mrs. A. Vicory and Mrs. A. Hartwick were Momence callers Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Clark and daughter, Jean, ot Blue Island, Ill.,

spent Sunday at the Fred McRoberts’ home. Mr. and Mrs. Med Regnier of Hammond, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Larson of Lowell, and Mrs. Harry Press of Hessville were Sunday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hopper. Mrs. Press remained to spend a week with Mrs. Hopper, who is able to be up again. Mr. and Mrs. Al. Johnson of Morocco visited with Mr. and Mrs. Gust Daun on Saturday of last week. Mrs R. Born went to Danville, Illinois Tuesday evening to attend a meeting of the Royal Neighbors. Mr. and Mrs. I. Gerrich and son, Harold, spent Monday evening at, the L A. Gerrich home in Kentland. Lydia Larson spent the week-end in Shelby at the home of Marie Flatt. Mrs. Frank Furstman of Shelby visited Mrs. Gust Daun on Monday. Lee Williams and Jean Brice of Hazelton spent the week end with Jean’s sister, Mrs. Fred McRoberts. Mrs. T. M. Montgomery of Custer Park, Illinois is spending the week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. Fry.
