The Daughters of Sara of the Presbyterian Church were entertained Monday evening at the M. E. Minninger home with Mrs. William Hayes as hostess. A delicious potluck supper was served to the sixteen members present. Bunco and contests afforded diversion, and j awards went to Gladys Larson, Mrs. i C. E. Minninger, Mrs. Wayne Jon- ; es, and Zona Smith. Mr. Emil Sirois who is quite ill is beng cared for by Mr. Gust Daun. Mr. H. P. Simms attended a meeting of the County Board of Education in Crown Point last Thursday, in which all schools, but the* City Schools and Lowell High School, were cut to an eight month period, in place of the usual nine month session. Mrs. Otto Martin? who has been confined to her heme by illness, is reported much better at this writing. ... Mrs. William Hoffman, and son, William, spent the week end at the home of Mrs. Hoffman’s mother, Mrs. Moyer, of Hammond. ' Mrs. E. Bruckma.n, and Mrs. Harry Anderson visited in South Chicago on:,Thursday of last week. Mr. Harry Kelly, who is employed in Garrett, spent the week-end with his family. Mrs. C. E. Minninger spent Sunday at the John Nichols home near Lake Vilage. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Peterson took Mrs. Frank Hopper to Momence, Saturday for dental treatment. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Born ol Lowell were visitors at the R. Born home Monday. Mr. Henry, the Misses Ida and Emma Meyers, and Mrs. Hugh Souder and daughter, Ruth, of I Sheridan were guests at the Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mcßoberts home Sunday. Mrs. G. Guilford is visiting with her parents in Lafayette. Mary Pasel has been assisting at the John Degnan hqme during the past week. Mrs. John Degnan is much improved. *
Mr. S. Sirois, and son, Earl, of Shelby called upon Mr. Emil Sirois Sunday evening. . Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Schramlin were Wheatfield callers Monday afternoon. Mrs. R. McLachlan and Mrs. C. Minninger motored to Hammond ‘ Friday afternoon and attended the theatre. Mrs. A. Vicory and Mrs. A. F. i Hartwick were Momence callers on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mcßoberts were Crown Point visitors Saturday afternoon. The Sunday School of the Presbyterian Church is steadily gaining in attendance, especially among I the young people. Everyone is urged to make every Sunday morning Sunday Scnool and Church Day Mrs. J. M. Lowe is on the sick list. ... . * t j
