UNUSUAL INTEREST MANIFESTED IN SECOND ANNUAL SHOW. An unusual interest is being manifested in the Second Annual Lake County Corn Show which opens in the Community Building at Crown Point on Wednesday, January 18th. County Agent L. E. Cutler, who is at the head of the Committee on Arrangements said on Monday just before leaving for the State Agricultural Conference at Purdue: “I am surprised and. the committee is highly pleased at the interest that has been aroused. We are looking forward to one of the best shows of its kind ever held in this part of the state. The success of last year’s show aroused the agricultural sections of Lake County to the possibilities of a gathering of this kind. The exhbits will be more than doubled and I think every Community meetng in the county is going to participate in the entertainments to be staged during the three evenings of the show. A new feature this year that is arousing much interest is the educational features during the afternoon. Corn growers, potato raisers and egg producers should not miss the series of educational lectures that are to be given each day The participation of the Lake County Home Bureau Women, under the leadership of Miss Jayne Ferguson promises to be of special value to Lake County farm women, and a large attendance is looked for.”
Entries for the Corn, Egg and Potato classes will close on Saturday evening, January 14th, and entries will be received up to the hour of eight o’clock p. m. at the office of County Agent L. E. Many exhibits were selected this year when the corn and potatoes were gathered, and are being held in readiness for the opening of the show. Chairman C. D. Root, of the entertainment committee reports that an unusual interest is being manifested in the evening shows.
