Quite a number of our boys and girls have been absent from school the last few days with the chicken pox. Mrs. Harriet Crowder took Sunday dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ward. Maude Armstrong, son Neal and Juanita Hansen of Hammond spent Sunday with her father, Charles Armstrong. Chas. Holle was a Medaryville goer Saturday. Mr. Mills of Rensselaer was here Tuesday soliciting farm insurance. Mr. and Mrs. Ira L. Huntington visited relatives and friends over the week end. O. Cadore of Watseka, Ill., transacted business here Tuesday. Mrs. Elliott was taken to the Jaser County Hospital Monday for medical attention. Several from here attended the Jasper County Corn Show at Rensselaer Friday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Heilscher of Gary are visiting with Mr. Heilscher’s mother, Amelia Heilscher. Elmo Rice and family did shopping in DeMotte Saturday evening The teachers and pupils of our school enjoyed a Thanksgiving Program Wednesday afternoon. The programs of the various rooms were combined and each proved very entertaining. Mr. Guio, branch manager of the Avery Machinery Co., of Indianapolis, was a business visitor here Friday. Word has been received here that Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Parks of Rensselaer are the proud parents of a baby boy. The baby has been named Harold Lloyd. Mrs. Parks will be remembered by her many friends here as Mary Parzschke.
