Creek spent Sunday in DeMotte. Miss Frances Hockleberg who is employed in Crown Point spent the week end with home folk. Miss Mildred Brown of Wheatfield has returned to DeMotte and is working in Mary’s Restaurant. Mrs. Florence Fritts entertained relatives from Chicago Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Neil Sekema and daughter, Mabel and Mrs. Robert Wiersma attended the show at Crown Point Sunday evening. Dr. Oosten returned to the Rensselaer hospital for another slight operation. Mrs. L. Bol and son Jack spent Saturday shopping in Chicago. They were the dinner guests of Miss Cecilia Flath who returned home with them. Misses Katherine Segina and Amy Grunwald spent Sunday in Chicago with Miss Ann Segina. Mr, and Mrs. Tom Hayes and children of Chicago called on Mr. and Mrs. Richard Grevenstuk Saturday. Mrs. James Dickey and son were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. D. Strong of Thayer. Mrs. Al Konovsky entertained the Bridge Club Thursday evening. Misses Alice Van Meerten, Mildred Brown, Oscar Coberly and Roy VanMeerten attended the show at North Judson Sunday evening. Mr. Kenneth Medema of DesPlaines visited Mr. and Mrs. Andrew DeHaan and family and Mrs. Simon Groet. Mr. Ed. Biersteker returned after a short visit with his folks in Wisconsin. Mr. James Erwin died at his home here, Nov. 17 at the age of 69 years, most of his life was spent in DeMotte. He is survived by his wife, four sons and two daughters. The funeral was held Sunday at the M. E. Church. Burial was made in the DeMotte Cemetery.
