WHEATFIELD
ELIZABETH McFARLAND
Ab Long who has been living in Rensselaer last summer is visiting at present at the home of Wm. Meyers. Miss Marcele Anderson, student at Indiana University, will spend Thanksgiving with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Anderson. Miss Wilma Langdon will spend Thanksgiving with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. Langdon. Wilma is a Sophomore at I. U. Jack Alsip, aged eleven, was winner of the prize cup grand championship corn grower prize of Wheatfield, Keener and Kankakee townships. We know Jack to be very industrious and saw him sow and cultivate his prize corn on the L. Misch farm. This is quite an honor and we congratulate Jack for his achievement. Elizabeth McFarland spent Saturday night with Mrs. May Wilmington. The Country Club met last Thursday at the home of Mary Grube. Mr. and Mrs. John Matt of Hammond visited with Mrs. Turner. Miss Helen Turner, a granddaughter, also visited her. Here is the latest of election bets in town. Olan Minor clipped (or is supposed to) Warren Whites hair all off. Another Hoover loser. Mr. and Mrs. Meyers from Newland spent last Sunday at the Holbrook home.
