HOOKED RUG MAKING DEMONSTRATION TO BE GIVEN IN CROWN POINT.
A hooked rug making demonstration will be part of the program of the Lake County Home Bureau Achievement. Day which is to be held in the Masonic Temple in Crown Point on Thursday, November 10. The morning will be given over to the election of county officers and to the leader’s training meeting. Potluck dinner will be served at 12 o’clock. Each member is to bring her own service, sandwiches and a covered dish. Promptly at 1 o’clock the afternoon program will start. The public are cordially invited to attend this afternoon program. Talks will be given by two 4-H club girls, there will be installation of officers for the coming year, a talk by County Agent L. E. Cutler and a short talk by Miss Leila Gaddis, State Leader of Home Demonstration Agents. The main speaker of the afternoon
is Blanche Zaring, House Furnishings Specialist from Purdue University, who will give a talk on ‘From Rags to Rugs’. She will demonstrate the method of making hooked rugs, also braided and other types of rugs. Jayne Ferguson, Lake County Home Demonstration Agent urges that all Home Bureau members and any women interested in the making of rugs, or any part of the program, come and bring their friends.
