MRS. CHAS. HOLLE
Several voters from here attended the Republican meeting at DeMotte Saturday evening. Charlie Armstrong returned from his visit in Newton County, after a much longer stay than was expected. The dance here at the hall Saturday evening was not very well attended due to political meetings elsewhere. Charles Holle made a business trip to North Manchester Monday. Many from here attended the Democratic meeting held at Rensselaer last Wednesday evening, where the principal speaker was Paul McNutt, candidate for Governor. Our school closed here Wednesday afternoon for the balance of the week, because of the annual Indiana Teachers Ass’n held at Indianapolis, giving the teachers an opportunity to attend. Those attending from here were Wm. May, Frank Owens and Gladys Holle, also Ira and Opal Huntington of Valparaiso. While there they had the pleasure of listening to the address given by the Democratic Candidate for President, Franklin D. Roosevelt. Mr. Guio of Indianapolis was a business visitor here Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Meyers were Chicago visitors Friday. Mrs. Wm. Crowder and Mrs. John Pettet took a joy-ride to the city Friday. They report a wonderful time. Ira Huntington was a Rensselaer visitor Saturday.
