Mrs. Catheryn Pinter attended the funeral of Mrs. Ralph Neville at Rensselaer last Wednesday. Delbert May received a $25 reward for recovering two valuable hunting dogs belonging to the Englehart brothers of Gary. Ginger and his Ginger Snaps Orchestra of South Bend will play at Wheatfield Sunday night, Oct. 9. Guy Jones and Russell Jensen motored to South Bend last Friday. Mrs. Fendig, Miss Cunningham, Miss Lanta Smith, Mrs. Jack Smith and Mrs. Goldie Manz attended the W. L. S. Barn Dance in Chicago Saturday. The Sunday School attendance for last Sunday was a total of 55. Mr. Lewis Grube received word of the death of his sister, Mrs. John Allen of Kankakee. Mrs. Wm. Spry of Hammond visited Mr. and Mrs. Bert Vandercar Saturday. Mr. Nelson and sixteen of the boys attended a Hi Y Meeting at Remington and won first prize for mileage. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Clare Gulbransen and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Vandercar visited Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Stanley of Kouts Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Anderson of Chicago visited Mrs. May Wilmington last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Dunn motored to Gary Monday. Miss Elinor Strader fell while playing and broke her arm. Mrs. Frances Schwier and Miss Elizabeth Schwier visited friends here Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. John Sexson returned last Friday from a ten day visit at Bloomington and Greenfield. Mrs. Goldie Manz, Mrs. Bea Jensen, Mrs. Joe Hilliard and Mrs. Ethel Anderson attended a Republican meeting at Rensselaer Monday. Mrs. Elsie Clark visited Mrs. James Anderson last Sunday. Miss Anna Behles returned Sunday from a two weeks visit in Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Jasperson went to Gary Sunday and brought back their son, Charles William, who has been in a hospital there. Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Marble entertained at two six o’clock dinner and bridge parties. The parties were in honor of Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Hayes who are leaving for California Tuesday.
