Mrs. Dorothy Junglas of near Rensselaer spent several days last week with her mother, Mrs. Anna Davis. Mrs. Mary Fuller has been ill for several days, we hope for her speedy recovery. Mrs. Hazel Cyphers and Mrs. Christie Baude went to Gary Friday on a shopping expedition. Mr. W. O. Schanlaub, County Superintendent, visited our school last Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Binge visited at Thayer last Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Evans, Mrs. Bertha DeFries and Mr. and Mrs. James Dickey and son Jimmie spent the week end here. Mr. and Mrs. J. Roorda and Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Zimmer and Jimmie motored to Chicago Thursday. Mrs. A. Pewesdorph is visiting with relatives in Chicago this week. Those who attended the ball game Sunday reported it one of the best played games of the season. The local boys were defeated by a Blue Island team 1-0. Mr. and Mrs. E. Kane and son Jackie of Whiting, Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Woosley, also of Whiting, Mr. and Mrs. E. Paper and Mr. and Mrs. A. Jacobs of Hammond spent Sunday with their aunt and niece, Mrs Noah Cockrell. Charles Cockrell pitched a winning game of base ball last Sunday

at Greenacres, for the Fair Oaks team. The score was 5 to 0. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Cyphers and daughter, Doanna spent Monday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Noah W. Cockrell and family of Rose Lawn.
