Bert Lawbaugh of Crown Point took Sunday dinner at the Lawbaugh home. Mr. and Mrs. George Sammons of Kentland were Village callers Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hanford and children were guests at the home of his mother in DeMotte Sunday. The ladies of the church gave a surprise basket dinner for the Minister and his wife Mr. and Mrs. Ray Turner, after the morning services.
A number of our citizens attended the funeral of James Monet, formerly of our town, but of late years a resident of Schneider. The funeral from the Presbyterian Church of Schneider and burial in the Lake Village cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Henderson and Virginia were Sunday guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mrs. George Madison Sunday. Schuyler Cox and Melvin Studer of near Rose Lawn were village callers Sunday. Grant Lawbaugh of Crown Point, Ernest Lawbaugh and Harold Vorse of East Chicago were also callers here Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Severs and family and Fred Palmer of near Enos visited relatives and friends in Lake Village Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Platt and children of Crown Point visited at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ned Platt over the week end. Claude Rainford, Manager of the Lake Village Ball Team and three players Ted and Bud Rainford and Walter Lawbaugh went to see the Cubs play ball Tuesday. Charles Boyle and Mr. Lee of Rose Lawn were on our streets one day last week. Mr. and Mrs. Ora Sellers and family were in Lake Village Monday.
