DeMOTTE MERCHANT DECLARES NEW DEAL.
Just returned from a business trip to Chicago, Mr. Art Lagaveen, local dry goods merchant, seemed greatly impressed with the prevailing opinion shared by industrial and commercial leaders as well as many retailers with whom he came in contact while in Chicago, with regards to business prospects for the near future. “I was greatly impressed” says Mr. Lagaveen, “not only with the feeling of confidence, but with the noticeable activity that was going among large commercial establishments in preparing for a very definite upturn in affairs generally, To what course this may be attributed I cannot say, but there is certainly an undercurrent of confidence and ample activity to convey the impression that the hopes for a definite upturn are really justifiable.” It is interesting to note that Mr. Lagaveen has evidently caught the spirit of optimism. He informs us that he is laying plans right now to transform his store into a modern up-to-date retail establishment. As a result of this undertaking, Mr. Lagaveen declares that he will be in a better position than ever to serve the people of DeMotte and the surrounding country. He further declares that as an outcome of the last three years economic disturbance entirely new methods of retailing have come into practice; that merchandising methods have been revolutionized, and that with the inception of the new plans for his store, modern methods of merchandising and retail store operations will be put into effect. As a final preparation for these activities Mr. Lagaveen is holding a gigantic reorganization sale starting this Saturday, Sept. 3rd.
