LAKE COUNTY FAIR OPENS AUG. 29, 30, 31, SEPTEMBER 1, 2

Plans for the largest and most complete Fair, Lake County has ever witnessed have been announced by Secretary Fred A. Ruf; with glamour and picturesqueness of the old fashioned County Fair, which were a gala event for both the farmer and city folks, has been preserved by the Committee arranging Lake County’s annual great event. In addition to all this with the many new features, the County Boy Scout activities with a membership of over three thousand, four hundred Girl’s 4-H Club and one hundred Boys’ 4-H Club members, all taking an active interest, will manifest beyond all expectations the wonderful educational work being accomplished by these truly fine organizations. A new idea in Midways will be seen with “America’s Premier Tented Attractions’, with Sols Liberty Shows and rides. This years dates being a week earlier than in former years; and the week before Labor Day, will be a great treat to the children of the County, giving all an opportunity to attend, schools of the county not starting until Labor Day week, and all children under the age of fifteen years admitted free, thruout the week, will see the greatest array of children from all the surrounding territory ever in evidence at this Fair. Many noted herds of live stock shown at the Illinois State Fair, the week previous and enroute to the Indiana State Fair, which follows this Fair, will be seen, besides the stock from neighboring states. Every department will be filled with many rare and interesting exhibits, superior to any ever displayed here before and the entertainment program will be a thrilling one you will enjoy. So comprehensive has been the scope outlined by the sponsors that interest will find expression in some exhibit or program.
