Mrs. Robert Kerns is visiting friends in Chicago for a few days. R. Heilman and son visited Olga Jensen over the week end. Mrs. B. Jensen is staying for a few days visit. Mrs. Janet Bell and Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Brown visited Mrs. W. J. White The Wheatfield base ball team was defeated last Sunday by a Chicago Heights team, to a score of 7 to 3. Mr. and Mrs. John Tilton knd family are moving into the Henry Miller property in the east end of town. Mrs. Marie Hammond of Rensselaer and Mrs. Laura Barner of Crown Point visited friends here last Saturday. A shower and birthday party was held at the Hilliard home in Wheatfield in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Lon Hilliard of Tefft. They received many useful gifts for their new home. There were 52 present and all report a good time.
Otto Mills returned to work last Tuesday morning. He has been off some time due to a leg injury. Mrs. Shires, Mrs. George Myers and daughter of Rensselaer called on Mrs. Biggs last Monday. Mr. and Mrs. John Matt of Hammond visited Mrs. Turner over the week end. Mr. James Anderson went to Rensselaer last Monday on business. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Somers are visiting relatives in Monon. Roy Biggs of Gary is visiting friends here this week. Community Sunday school services are held in the high school auditorum every Sunday morning at 10 o’clock.
grandfather Mr. Ellingsworth at Kentland this week. Mrs. Earl Pace was called to Rochester, Indiana, Saturday, on account of the illness of her father. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Luchene were called to Valparaiso last Sunday due to the death of an aunt. ‘Little’ Marietta Carlson, who has been bed fast so many weeks because of the very serious burns which she received when her clothing caught fire last spmg, is now able to be up again. Mr. K. V. Arnold is entertaining his brother from Indianapolis this week. There will be a big Republican picnic at Wicker Park, Sunday, August 21. Anyone with a car who can join the parade at Crown Point, see either Mr. Peterson or Mr. Dickey.
