AGED FARMER HAS STROKE
Mr. Will H. Tyler, 80, a resident of Keener township for many years fell lifeless in his barn last Friday morning, when it was still actively engaged in farming and was holding the lines to a team of mules attached to a cultivator at the time he was stricken. As he slumped to the ground the mules became frightened and started to run, dragging his body over the cultivator blades. This inflicted several cuts on the victims arms and a hole in his side, but the wounds were not sufficient to have caused his death. His son, Barton, who was near rushed to his side, but Mr. Tyler was dead before he reached him. The deceased had been in exceptionally good health and was not subject to heart attacks. He was extremely rugged for one of his age and would have been 81 years of age on October 5th. Mr. Tyler had lived in Keener township since a young man and was widely known in northern Jasper county. He was a resident of his own farm which is one half mile south and one half mile east of DeMotte. His widow and one son survive him.
