From 1872 to 1876 he carried the Jasper Petersburg mail route and served ?s a Jus tice of the peace of Bainbridge township. In 1882 he was elected county recoider and served for 8 vears, after which he again engaged in the cattle and grain business. To his first marriage were born 7 children, 5 of whom are st'll living, Edgar, Florence, Francis, Sarah, and Ida, all married, he also leaves 26 grandchi'dren to mourn his death. 8100 Reward, SIOO.
