Rob.rts of Tei i e Haute are candi : r governor of Indiana Representative Sam Benz Of Crawford County, is entitled to the thanks of the people of the State of Indiana for his sue cess in killing the Harrison county steal for their old Statt house building. It was a pretty smooth scheme for Harrison County to try and get a new court house at the expense of the people of the state. The Crawford County Democrat says: Ir. Benz informs U; that, although he fought the bill to purchase the old Capitol, he is in favor of preserving it, but not at the $50,000 rate. A hum number of citizens of Craw iord county have expressed the Mine view on this matter since it was brought before the legi lature, and while many are in favor of the state purchasing the old Capitol building and preserving it. we have yet to hear from the first person in Crawford county who is in favor of ex pending '.' 1 uf the people's money for it, or anything like that amount The citizens of Crawford county feel that Mr Benz was justified in voting against the bill and he has received many congratulations on leading the fight to have it killed. He has also rived a number of congratulatory letters irom Perry county, which with Crawford composes this legislative district

Mr Benz was not only acting

for the best interests of his constituents, but also for the best interests of the I . ers all over the state Wonders Never Cease. The Washington ",az tte says.
