Poor Old Mason J The egotistical pettifo?er, and chronic seeker after official pap is at it again For over 39 years we've had to hear of Mason Jwanting this or wanting that It is time Mason J. was deported to a warmer clime. One of his sap-sucking newspaper friends has ths following in regard to Mason J. Good Lord! forgive us for reprinting it! "Mason J. Niblack of Vincennes will be pressed for the pos. sition of parliment3rian to the speaker of the rational he use. We do not know where could be found a better man or one so good for the place. He is one of the best parliamentarian in th" country. Representath e Culiop will do what he can to secure Mr, Niblack's appointment. Mr Niblack was twice speaker of the Indiana nouse of representatives servinh in thesessionof 19 and 1891, and in the last session of the state legislature he was parlimentarian to Speaker Honan". The Moore Mörder Trial.
The acqui'al of Menlo Moore
by a jury at Vincennes was a travestv on justice and a disgrace
to Indiana. Moore's murder of Gibson was a cowardly, brutal and it meritad the condign punishment which the statutes proscribe for offenses of such a character. Moreover, to aggrevate his crime, he sought immunity through an nppeal to the socalled unwritten law, and the woman in the case, Mrs Moore went upon the witness stand as a Hoosier Evelyn Thaw, imitating in a coarse.crude manner the sensational story told thre ers aco bg the New York; Her story in itself should nut been enough to have satisfied any jury of her husband's utter lack of justification in the commission of his heinous crime.
do so is murder, and the fact
th it the murdered man may not
have been "fit to live" cuts no fisrure in the case: the deed is
still murder. Vincennes badly needs a civilizing uplift. Cox Booms Marshall,

Tested And Proven m Then Is a Heap el So'ace In Being 'üble tf Depend UpM a Well-Earned Reptatlin. For months Jasper readers have seen the constant expres
sion of praise for Doan's Ridney
PiHsfc and read about tne gooci work they have done in this lo cality. Not another remedy ever produced such convincing proof of merit. Mrs P Dickman, Jacksos St.. Jasper, Ind . says: 4,For a long time a member of my family suffered intense'y from lameness through the back and sharp twinges in the loins. There was a dull, miserable feeling across
the back and headaches were
common. The kidney secretions also caused much annoyance by their irretrularity in passage.
Doan's Kidney Pil s were doing
such good work in similar cases that a supply was fina.ly procured from Flick and Pfau's Drug
Store. This remedy proved to
be just the ore that was needed
and its use brought prompt and
gratifying relief." ( tat went

Congressman Cox has reached Washington and the public press reports say he has launched a boom for Gov. Marshall for President in 1912. A few other Indiana Congressman have joined in with Cox in booming business Gov. Marhsall may be all right for some Democrats in Indiana but down here in the Third district we have a Reformatory, known as the JefTersonville Reformatory, where under a supposed Democratic rule, is managed by Republicans, with most of the best places held by the enemy and where Democarts not only hold the inferior positions,
but there are instances where their salaries have been reduced Gov Marshall certainly knows of

Account ollMse Bookkeeping jl Wunfcfpa FlanL Tnat the citizens of Knightstown have suffered losses of more than $5,000 annually in revenue from the operation of the water and Iiht plant, is the conclusion of James D. "mith and John W Barlow, field examiners for the State Board of Accounts who have just completed their examinatio of the books of the civil town. The board of town trustees during the period covered by the examination and two water and light superintendents
Sigel Wilson and William r. Fredcrich, are held responsible. The examiners found that both superintendents have peen careless in the attending to collections and keeping accurate records of the business of the water and light plant. Wilson, the xaminers say, was an excellent me chanician, but a poor bookkeeper. Frederick, they say, was even more lax in thef administration
of affairs of tho office".
Certain prominent citizens of
the town are charged with hav ing enjoyed the use of water and

citizens, as furnished toe examininers by Alverness M. Chance, who succeeded Mr. Frederick, is made a part of the report of the field examiners. The examiners say, three was
