It is curious how things de elop For several generatious the liquor intersts have run things with a high hand and busied themselves with politics and controled city government the prohibitionsts made what fight they could but they got nowhere in a party sense, but they kept calling attention to conditions, and finally the people became aroused and such a sweep of prohibition as they never even thought of has resultld. The "wet" and
"dry question is tne most discussed of any one on the
trains in the hotels and business
places. A very large part of the territory of the nation is now
dry and the rest will fllow.
The lipour interests have broght this on themselves because of
their high handed methods and refusal to obey the laws. Some think there will be a re-action but I am of the opinon that the nation will go dry bv act
of congress and that beers, wines
arid whiskeys will be neither
ir.anufactured or admitted to im poit As the dry territory in
creases there will be more and
more shipping from wet states
into dry territory, and that will
force the dry majorities to com
pel their congressional represen
tatives to make the nation dry on
tienalty of being retired to pn
ate life. When a majority of
dry districts and states arrive, they can and will control con
gressional action. It will be too
bad to deprive the millionaires of

Bay View is throughly modern and makes much of recreations and is now building a ? 12,000 swimming pool and bowling alley. This year it adds two new departments to its already full list of summer meetings. One is a Summer School in Household Arts and Science,
conducted by six women of the

a Bible of Conference of all denominations, in which will parti
