The Grand Master of this
state is at the head of an army of 76,294 men who are banded together to visit the sick, relieve the distressed, bury the dead, educate the orphan, care for the old and helpless of the Order and to elevate the character of mankind. It is his duty to supervise the 749 Subordinate Lodges of the state, to visit the weak lodges, attend District Meetings, Dedications of new halls, Memorial Day exercises, and visit every lodge possible. He is to conduct the correspondence of the office which it is estimated will require the mailing of between 2000 and 3000 letters for each term of six months He also has the appointment of 92 District Deputy Grand Masters, all of the Committeemen who will serve at the two sessions of the Grand Lodge, aside from his staff of appointive officers. In all he will have the appointment of between 225 and 800 Odd Fellows who will assist him in carrying on the great work of the Order in this state. The Odd Fallows of Indiana paid out in tnis state last year! for the relief of humm suffering the immense sum of $110,620.30. Th's sum is so great, that if it was in one dollar bills, and the bills were fastened e.id to end, counting the length of each bill at 7 inches, the bills l eprcsenting this sum of money would reach a distance i f over thirty miles. The new Grand Lodge Building and furnishings at Indianapolis cost $502,269.51. The value of the real estate upon which it rest3 is $-175,000., making the Grand Lodge property worth at least one million thirty-seven thousand, two-hundred-sixty-nine dollars. The total resources of the Subordinate Lodges of the state exceed three million-nine hundred thousand dallars, The old Fellows now have
