HON. HORACE M KEAN.
New Granit lodge Building Dedicated. Grand
Master Remembers His FriGnds. Rev. F. L Priest, Hon. Harry Carpenter and Hon. Samuel I Dillin on his Stall ol Appointed Ollicers. Dubois County Well Represented at the v Judicatory Ceremonies Horace M. Kean, of this place, a member of Shiloh Lodge at Ireland, was on Thursday of this week elected and installed Grand -Master of the Grand lodge of Odd Fellows of this state at Indianapolis, Ind. He is perhaps the first -Odd Fellow in Indiana belonging to' a little country lodge with a membership of less than fifty, who was ever elected to this' high office in this state. He fs proud of the honor and so are his friends who helped him securest; He certainly remembered the men at Tiome who aided and assisted him in securing the place. Among those he selected to help him irt carrying on this great work Sre the"f allowing able and well known men of this section of Indiana.' ' Rev'T: -1; Priest, formerly pastor here, now of Evansville, but still a member ot the Odd Fellow's Lodge" at Huntingburg, was appointed Grand Chaplain the highqat appointive office in the Grand Lodge. Quite an honto the local lodge hire as well as to Rev. Priest. Hon Samuel E. Dillin of Petersburg was appointed Grand Conductor. Hon. Harry Carpenter, of Otwell, Grand Guardian, and Eppie Reiley, of Loogdoteb, Grand Herald. All of these appointees are representative men of this part of Indiaha, all are good speakers and enthusiastic Odd Fellows who will doubtless get busy doing something for the spread of Odd Fellowship in this part of the state. Rushville, Aurora, Shelby and Terre Haute were also honored with appointive officers. The I. 0. O. F. Grand Lodge Building at Indianapolis was dedicated Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 d'clock. The dedicatory address was delivered that night in Tomlinson Hall by Grand Sire John L Nolen, of Tennesee. The grand torchlight parade at night immediately preceeding the dedicatory address, was the greatest event of the kind ever witnessed in the caiital city of this state. The new Grand Lodge building just dedicated is the most modern building of the kind in this pait of the Union and is the highest in Indiana, being 205 feet, or 11 stories high, and is absolutely fire-proof. The exterior of the building is Bedford stone, the interior solid mahogany, white Italian marble-and imported Paranazzo and Breche violet marble. Polished plate glass are in all windows: furnishings, mahogany and leather; messenger and telephone 'and telegraph service complete; hot, cold and drinking
