ID THE DEMOCRACY OF INDIA: I have conduced to be a candidate for the nomination of Attorney General, of Indiana, subject to the decision of the Democratic State Convention. 1 look for my support directly to the rank and fite of the party in the several counties and ask their help in securing the nomination by the selection of delegates favorable to my candidacy. 1 was born in Indiana and have lived here all my life. Have never stood for or held office except that of State Senator one term. If elected, It shall be my ambition to manage the duties of the office and so far as in my power enforce the laws of the state in the interest of the whole ?ople and to the honor, credit and dignity of the state, ii id shall try to do my duty as I see it without fear or favor. age. At an early age commenced teaching school in this county and for a while was Superintendent of the Jasper High School. He graduated from the Law department of the Lebanon, Tenn., Law School and at once began practice at Jasper where he has
built up a large clientage. For several years he served the county I as its attorney and was deputy Prosecutor under the late Thomas! Diilon, of Petersburg For the last few years he has delivered law lectures at the Indiana University during the Summer sessions He was elected state senator from the counties of Dubois and Davies in 1902 and made an excellent record, being floor leader;

Ely and the condition of the record as to any payments made and herewith comply with your request. I find on the Duplicate of 1907 that E. A. No payment shown on delinquent. I find on Duplicate of 1905 assessed to E A. Ely and wife Rhoda property valued at $1700.00 on which there was current tax $55.92 and delinquent $89.21.
