-Mr. Carl Weigel and his harness maker. Mr. A. W. Fischer, went to Louisville Monday to buy the stock and machinery for the new harness shop. Ä-tieorge Wuchner, the accommodating assistant at the Jasper K. R. depot, suffered from a severe attack of lumbago the tirst part of this week, but is now at work again. Jas. H. are invited. Admission adults 10c. children under 10, Sets. Several Jasper people attended Pike circuit court, this week, as witnesses in the f tuder-Nickey case. Among them were: J. F. Judy, J. P. Huther, Andy Schüler and Mrs. Sherman Kellams. They came home yesterday. sThe town should buy the fde:tric lighting plant, enlarge it. and improve the service by all night and every night lighting. As the power house is in the street now, it would not be necessary to change its location.

It is expected that the public
school vacation in Jasper, this year,
will 'ast from the day before Christmas until the Monday after New
Years. School has been held on
several Saturdays, so as to make an
even four months before Christmas, this bringing the school to a close earlier in the spring. Prof. öan-
WCarl Myers, of Madison Tp., who had his arm cut off in a corn shredder, last week, is getting along nicely. Died. Mrs. Lonis Pfau died at
her home, four miles north of Jasper, at 8 a. m., yesterday, of pneu
monia.
She leaves eight children and a
husband to mourn her loss. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's
cemetery Saturday morning, at 9 o'clock.
Christmas at Hiltsbore. There will be a Christmas enter
tainment at the Hilleboro church
on Christmas night. Children belonging to the school will be admitted free. Children outside of the school under twelve years of age free, over twelve 10c at the door.
