Serrig "D ' of Losa Ataociatioa. It ia now stated that Serien "l" of the I'henix B. A L .Wn, oi Jasper, will payout Dec, 31, 1902, This aerie? has run six years and four month-. Puring the ia.-t 18 months from 13,500 to 112,000 hi shown not to have heen loaned, for want of borrowers. A new series styled "K" is being subscribed, to begin payment the 34 of January. The "idle" money in the treasury has totally destroyed any benefits to stockholders of Ihe liberal premiums on loans received during the first three year-, and also a large sum in tines received. This demonstrates that before the new series is subscribed for an amendment to the by laws should be adopted which will prevent any large accumulation of idle money, something

like the following : "Sec. . Whenever there shall be in the treasury, uncalled for by borrowers, a sum equaling 91,000, the eafhier shall prepare slips of paper numbered so as to include very share holder who has not taken out the amount of his shares, and the same number of blunk tickets, except that one shall contain the word "borrower." and when the shareholders shall pay their weekly dues each shall draw one J of the numbered ballots, and the cash-

ter snan draw irom me blank- a slip, until the one with "borrower" on it is drawn, and the shareholder who gets that must borrow to the amount of his shares or cancel his stock. At said drawing if any shareholder fails to attend the cashier shall draw for him and then notify him." The following calculation shows what each share should have earned in the six years and four months, from Sept. 8, L896, exclusive of all premiums, tines and transfers fees.
