Hsatiofbarf Wage Werks. That the "Huntingburg Wagon"
id t.i l manufactured on a inure
extensive scale is now an assured
fact, a number of local capitalists
having formed a stock company, the organization to bo known as the Uuntingburg Wagon Works.
The capital stock is placeü at
$40,000, and the following well
known mtn compose the organiza
tion: Wru. Koettger, Hen Hiosier-
man, Charles Moenkhaus, Philip Dilly, Dr. C. R. Ramsbrok, Henry Mauntel, Henry Hillemeyer, Hugo C. Rothert and J. V. Stimson. Kight thousand dollars will be set aside for Wis purchase of grounds and the erection of buildings, and it is expected that work will begin in a short time. A number of desirable locations have been offered the oompany, but we are informed that none has as yet been selected The plant will be erected near the railroad, however. This will be one of the best paying mdustiies in Southern Indiana, as the reputation of ihe wagon is already established and the wagon finds a ready sale. The new com pany will employ about "0 men t begin on as the plant is erected and put in running order. Huntingburg Independent.

For the Jasper Coi rikk. THE JASPER 01RL Let others tell of Southern belle Or Eastern maidens fair; My pen shall sing of a nobler thing A Jasper lass-ie rare. She's noble souled, she's strong and bold, Nor fears the sun nor shower; With perfect health, good sense her wealth, She knows full well her power. Bainbridge township, 'neath bluest sky, Has ever been her home. By Patoka's rills, adown the hills She loves the best to roam. With buoyant heart she does her part In kitchen, field or store; Her heart is light, her eyes are bright As any nymph or fairy. Nor fears the tan more than a man, Makes garden or washes disbe ; With charming grace fills any place As one to tht manor bom. In Nature's book she loves to look And read its pages bright ; To learn His will who crowns each hill
With twinkling stars at night.

WEEDINQ. Death went weeding, weeding, His sickle over his shoulder; The weak, the old, the over-bold, Grew weaker, wanner, colder. He weeded them out of the garden, The frail folks racked with pain, The sick, and the old, and the over-bold, - And let the strong remain. Now Death goes weeding, weeding, The sword the tool he useb ! He gathers the fair, the debonair, The young, and the old refuses. He gathers out of the garden The young and the strong and the gay, He tlings them far to the ditch of war, And the others he bids "Stay!"
So here in the ravaged garden And out in the cornfield yonder, The weak remain louely, in pain, And work, and brood, and ponder How death dig out of the garden The strong, and the brave, and the gay, The flower of the years, with blood and tears,
And flings them as weeds away.
