The historic town of Ireland may rejoice to add still a greater event to its history, one which is, as it a ere the eighth great wonder of the world namely, a matron's oratorical contest. Speakers, contestants are expected from all parts of the county, but the contest is still open to all matrons of whom we may not know, who wish to tread the paths their children have trod. Services will begin at two on the afternoon of the 1st of August, and close at two on the moruing of the second. They will be held in the grove at Ireland. All kinds of refreshments will be served. The matron's contest will be held at 2:30 p. m. At 3:.J0 p. m. there will be a temperance love feat. Many will bring lunch and remain in the grove for the evening session the grand gold medal contest and the grand lawn social. Some of the bebt talent of the county will be displayed that evening.
