VENTILATED DAIRY BAUN. tie in poorly ventilated stables has been cattle diseases, antl no doubt is one of the causes of tuberculosis, which has destroyed many herds in this state. Much of the poor milk whieh poes to the creameries is caused by the conditions in the stable. The best material it h which to build

a stable is pine lumber. I would not build a atone stable. They are often damp. I would use matched lumber for the walls of the stable, putting it on both sides of tho studdinp so as to make a dead-air space. I would build the stable only nine feet hiph, antl so keep the warm air down where the cows are; 50H cubic feet of space ia sufficient for each animal if the stable is well ventilated. You can build n cement floor aa cheap as you can build a plank floor, and it is much more durable. You can have plank for the cattle to lie on if yon wish. For the foundation of the cement floor nothing is better than cobbles, or small stones, prout--'1. For the fop layer use Portland cement ami sand in proportion! of lun to one. Be sure the sand is clean and sharp. Make the top layer about tWO inches thick, and do not make it too smooth.
